Same business. Different reports. Customers had to bridge the gap.

Invoice reporting worked one way; purchase-requisition reporting worked another. Customers had to navigate the differences before answering their business questions.

The inconsistency reached the customer

Each team delivered reporting and analytics in its own way. A customer moving from invoices to purchase requisitions encountered a different reporting experience within the same product suite.

The need was to understand business data. Instead, customers also had to work through the differences between teams’ reporting approaches. Standardising that experience was the problem to solve.

Standardise the experience

I built a shared Data Analytics Platform to standardise reporting and analytics across these workflows. The goal was a consistent customer experience, supported by a common foundation for product teams.

BeforeTeam-specific reporting

Different experiences for invoices and purchase requisitions.

The changeA shared platform

Bring reporting and analytics onto a common foundation.

Customer valueA consistent experience

Standardise how reporting is delivered across workflows.

Build the foundation underneath

The platform supported ad hoc reporting, queries, third-party data ingestion and processing, as well as machine-learning training and natural-language processing use cases.

I also built MLTrain, enabling analysts and data scientists to manage ingestion, processing and orchestration through self-service workflows.

See it become part of daily work

Reporting and analytics capabilities were adopted by 70% of paid buyers. The shared platform made standardisation part of the product experience, rather than leaving each team to deliver reporting differently.
